Food, photography, shiny things, gardening and DIY projects!
ABOUT ME
Hi! My name is Natasha and I’m from the beautiful Caribbean islands of Trinidad and Tobago. I was raised in a family that loves to cook. Food is always a huge part of any gathering. The fusion is insane! We mix all kinds of flavors into our foods, African, Indian, French and Spanish just to name a few. You’re bound to find a new flavor around every corner and in every dish, and that’s the way we like it.
I currently reside in California with my beautiful family and puppy Raina. And while I always miss home, I find that cooking Caribbean dishes and introducing my new family to my culture makes being away bearable.
I’m also a lover of photography, orchids, plants and did i mention food?!
Hi! I just wanted to pop by and say thanks for following my blog. You’ve got some yummy looking recipes and posts on your site and I look forward to reading (and trying) more 🙂 Happy cooking xxx
Awww thank you so much! I’m truly flattered 😊💜 I’ll come check it out! I’ve been sick for two weeks, just starting to feel better, I’m so glad someone noticed I was missing hahahhaa *hugs*
I’m not sure if Kutchela is same as what I think it is. Is it made from grated mangos?
You know in summer we make so many dishes with green mangos like subji and chatni and kind of salad thing and this year I didn’t get to eat any of those. Really awful. Btw would you share your amchar recipe of course after you get better.
Yes the kutchela is made with grated mangoes! I will ask my mom for her amchar recipe, I have never actually made it because hers is so yummy, i just watch hahaha!
Absolutely! That’s a great plan! The funny thing is, my husband was just looking at probably transferring to India for 2 years! His job allows international transfers!
I am a huge fan of Caribbean food. I don’t know much about cooking it but I do know a lot about eating it. It’s a shame that here in London there aren’t enough decent proper Caribbean restaurants as it’s an amazing cuisine but not many people know about it.
It’s great to come across a blog that features Caribbean recipes. I will be attempting some of them
Thank you so so much for your kind words! *blushing like a fool over here* 😊😊😊 Caribbean food is so easy! Try some of the recipes and let me know what you think! Looking forward to hearing about your dishes! Thank you so much for following me! Cheers 🍹😁

Yes its very bad this year because we hardly got rain, so the air is filled with dust and pollen!

Oh no..! What’s happening to weather these days, it never rains here in summer but this year it rained so much. We didn’t get mangoes this year. =(

That’s awful 😦 Even in the caribbean my mom said they haven’t gotten as much mangoes, so she didn’t make amchar or kutchela 😦
